At Work
How and where do you like to work?
I’m a big fan of “in the moment” chats around someone’s desk. Nearly everyone here at PF has an empty chair in their office to slide into and bounce ideas from.
What are your go-to work tools?
My “Play Like a Champion” mouse pad, paperclips, stash of vitamins, and colored pens. Having a dual monitor is also key.
Favorite lunch spot?
I live only 10 minutes from the office, so I try to get home when I can to give Cody (my dog) time outside and to make something healthy. When I do eat out, I like incorporating a little ethnic cuisine – everything from Mexican to Mediterranean to Indian to Thai.
Biggest secret about Pathfinders?
Locally, most people have no idea that we work with such a great caliber of national, well-known clients. And, new or prospective clients outside of this area are often surprised that we’re located where we are. Many assume we’re from a larger metropolitan market based on our quality of work and ability to remain cost competitive. In any case, it’s fun to see eyes get wide when telling the PF story.
Future for marketing?
As more and more companies (of all sizes) understand the value of marketing, thoughtful strategic planning will prove to be the greatest differential in the industry. It’s not the amount of money spent that ensures success – it’s being wise in both the message and tactic.
At Play
Where would you like to take your Pathfinders mug?
At the moment, Italy – either Lake Como or the Isle of Capri – but that’s pretty idealistic! I do love to travel, particularly to the West/Pacific Northwest.
Do you have a favorite color in your closet?
Black, especially for work, though I’m trying to incorporate more color into my wardrobe. Blue is my favorite color overall.
What kind of music do you enjoy?
Alternative rock, rap, R&B, and some country. My favorite bands and artists include The Black Keys, MGMT, Passion Pit, Taylor Swift, and Pearl Jam, to name a few.
Activities or exercise you love?
I weight lift several days a week and supplement it with Barre workouts. Oh, and I’m the star player on our PF sand volleyball team. (No one’s going to see this, right?)
Truth behind your many hair styles?
I’m constantly playing with my hair style and color. When I started at Pathfinders, I had dark brown hair with bangs, which I eventually grew out, went blonde, and cut back again. For the record – my natural color is dishwater blonde.
You may not know…
Do you play an instrument?
Our school district required all students to play an instrument in 5th grade. For whatever reason, I chose the trombone. What I didn’t realize was that my small size made the 7th position too much of a stretch, so it was short-lived.
Special at-home pastimes?
I’m very much an animal person and my dog, Cody, is my baby. He’s an eight-year-old Beagle, Australian Shepherd mix. While I keep a vigilant exercise routine, Cody hasn’t kept pace until recently – mainly because his vet scolded us for too many biscuits. Now, he’s on a low-cal diet and enjoys walks on a regular basis with mom.
Favorite weather?
Sunny and hot. Winter is not for me.
Favorite movie type?
True stories (or those that are based on a true story) are my favorites. I just watched “The Imitation Game” recently. Two thumbs up.
Anneliese’s motto?
