Erica Graphman’s demeanor is one of quiet confidence. She brings a calmness to spaces she enters and we really appreciate that quality here! We are happy that she had so many great experiences with her alma mater, Manchester University, and now shares her expertise in social media with all of us.
As you get some insight into her thoughts and personality, we can all envision that lucky dog which will somehow find its way into her home in the future. In the meantime, though – here’s our Pathfinder who is looking for a friend to enjoy lunch with in the Garage or for another friend who loves dogs!
Young, scrappy and hungry
What is the most fun activity or project with your Pathfinders team?
Right now, we’re working with Boxed Water on launching their Better for Our Planet social media campaign. We’ve had the opportunity to work with more team members on this – Danny made an awesome campaign video; Ryan, Erin and Zack created and managed ads that received something like 6 million impressions in the first half of the campaign; and we’re getting this great message about helping the environment, planting trees, and bettering our planet through the small act of posting a photo in front of millions of people.
What do you absolutely have to have in your workspace?
A calendar because I can somehow never remember the date and a cup of tea. Why the cup of tea you might wonder? I can’t drink coffee because I get too jittery; tea gives me the caffeine boost I need in the morning or afternoon, plus it keeps me warm. My favorite is Twinings English Breakfast.
What are your favorite processes at the office?
I started a new method for collecting user generated content (UGC) for Amway for the Artistry and Nutrilite Divisions. I really enjoy the process of finding quality content that we can share with our audiences and help Amway celebrate what their Independent Business Owners create.
What is the favorite part of your job at Pathfinders?
I like learning new things from the Account Executives and my other co-workers. I studied English in college with the goal of working in publishing, and I never would have imagined working at a marketing agency. When I get to help with parts of projects, like writing scopes or project briefs, it’s a fun challenge to find out what new things I can do.
What is your favorite lunch spot?
The Garage! I like spending time and talking with my fellow Pathfinders at lunch.
What is your favorite food?
I love strawberries. Growing up, I spent the beginning of the summer in the strawberry patch with my grandparents. Eating a warm strawberry straight off the vine is the best thing ever.
What is your favorite color?
What is your favorite animal?
I’m a huge dog lover.. At my previous job working at Manchester University, I had the opportunity to foster a service-dog-in-training, Cortana, for 5 months through the non-profit 4 Paws for Ability. The only photo I have at my desk is of her! I haven’t had a pup of my own since Cortana, but I helped socialize several other dogs from the 4 Paws program and I love dog sitting for family and co-workers (most recently Jessanna’s dog Kobe!) When it’s time to add a dog to my family, I’d love a goldendoodle (I’m definitely jealous of Zack for his cute new puppy, Mabel.)
What is your favorite series?
I’ve been a Harry Potter nerd since the first grade. I was an advanced reader and my mom bought me the first book at a garage sale over the summer so I would have something that would take me a while to get through. The rest is history.
What is your favorite weather?
Early fall when it’s still warm during the day, but cool in the mornings and at night.
You may not know…
How did you decide to come to this area?
I moved to the area to be with my long-time boyfriend. He helps manage his family business in Elkhart and Middlebury.
Other positions different from the present one?
I previously worked at Manchester University as the Social Media Coordinator.
What is your favorite after work activity?
My boyfriend and I like going out to the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail after work – I bike and he rollerblades. Our current record is 16 miles, but we plan to beat that this summer!
Which living person inspires you the most or is an inspiration for you?
Probably JK Rowling and Lin Manuel Miranda. They’re brilliant and I am in awe of people who can display intelligence and creativity in their writing in a way that’s relatable to people in all walks of life.
What is the greatest love of your life?
Reading – My New Year’s Resolution for 2018 was to read at least 1 book per week, and I’ve stuck to it!
